Caran d’Ache 849 Pop Line Ballpoint Pen Review

I am writing here with a Caran d’Ache 849 pop line ballpoint pen. It has a white aluminium body in a very distinctive hexagonal shape. Caran d’ Ache is a new name to me in pens, Swiss made the Caran d’Ache is both a formal looking ballpoint yet also informal if that’s possible!

The pen clip is slim and almost insignificant and the only branding you will find is on the retractor button on the top of the pen. Once again a shorter pen than the norm, but it feels comfortable to write with. The stainless steel tip with a tungsten carbide ball claims to give blot free writing for almost 8000 metres. That’s some claim! The Goliath refill is the key here.

The Caran d’Ache 849 pop line ballpoint pen comes attractively packaged in a timeless tin which has a magnetic closure system and bubbles out to the shape of the pen. Caran d’Ache is a new name to me but I will be looking closely to what else they offer. A pen that will never go out of fashion!
