Every year, the Japanese Pilot/Namiki company presents thier new limited edition Capless fountain pen, and this year is no different. The new colour for 2012 is Charcoal Marble.
There are only 2012 pens sold worldwide and each pen comes with the serial number engraved on the centerband. We have a few of them, and I must say, the coal marble tone looks amazing. This new limited edition pen has a very interesting pattern which I’ve never seen before in a Pilot Capless range.
The shape and size of this retractable fountain pen is exactly the same as any other from Pilot Capless range, it has 140mm long and weights 28 grams.
Each pen fitted with a rhodium-plated 18k gold nib in medium size, but nib can be replaced if you require fine or broad size nibs. The trims are made of rhodium precious metal as well.
The case for this pen is very special, with a brown crackled material to match the colour of new Pilot Capless Charcoal Marble fountain pen.
Worth to mention that each pen comes with new and improved an ink converter, an ink cartridge, and a metal cartridge cap which used to cover over the cartridge to keep the click action working properly without putting stress on the plastic cartridge.
We were initially expecting this pen to arrive in mid-August but had to wait till mid-September. If you interested in the Charcoal Marble Capless pen, the RRP is around £225 but you can find it on our site for £199 including free postage within UK.
I don’t anticipate these pens will sell out immediately so you do have a bit of time to save up for this pen, to surprise your partner with a special Christmas gift.
