It’s that time of year again. The leaves are falling, the temperature is dropping, and it’s time once again to show our support for the fight against breast cancer! October is the official Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM). The purpose of BCAM is to raise awareness of breast cancer, encourage women to be breast aware and is a crucial fundraising opportunity for charities, such as Breast Cancer Campaign. The money Campaign generates during the month funds innovative, world-class breast cancer research throughout the UK.
What is breast cancer?
Breast cancer is cancer that forms in tissues of the breast, usually the ducts (tubes that carry milk to the nipple) and lobules (glands that make milk). It occurs in both men and women, although male breast cancer is rare.
What’s happening in BCAM?
You can take part in the pinkest fitness activity this October with Pink Aerobics at London’s Hyde Park or take to the streets in one of the various running events scheduled such as the Bupa Great South Run in Portsmouth. Thrill-seekers can take the plunge with Campaign’s Big Autumn Jump skydive in Northamptonshire! Breast Cancer Campaign is also inviting everyone to help them take a step closer to beating breast cancer by taking part in wear it pink, supported by Vanish.
How else can you show your support during BCAM?
We love seeing a wide range of new office products which will be rolled out in pink each year and sales will benefit the charity as it for a good causes. We’ve picked our favourite special pink products in our marketplace – don’t forget to take a peek!
